Michigan's Upper Peninsula

The Land of Hiawatha.  Known nowadays as the upper peninsula of Michigan is an overlooked gem in the upper Midwest.  The UP has played such a pivotal role in the USA and manufacturing beginning with auto industry.  All the major components to build a car came from the UP.  Raw materials such as: steel, copper, sand/glass and wood (all early cars contained) all came from the UP and became more and more refined as they approached Detroit to be bolted onto a car.
